Rebecca Howell, PhD, DABP, Professor of Radiation Physics
Dr. Rebecca Howell is a tenured Professor and board-certified medical physicist in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics, a Fellow of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, and Principal Investigator of the MD Anderson Late Effects Research Group, with 25 years of clinical experience. Her research focuses on advancing the science of radiotherapy-related late effects through innovative dosimetry and predictive modeling. She currently leads an NCI-funded R01 aimed at developing and clinically translating cardiovascular disease risk prediction models that incorporate cardiac substructure doses to support real-time, risk-aware treatment planning and personalized survivorship care. In this presentation, Dr. Howell will cover clinical motivation, model development and validation, in silico planning comparisons, and clinical interpretation of the results.
