Mingyao Zhu, PhD, DABR

Mingyao Zhu, PhD, DABR, is an Associate Professor of Medical Physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology, Emory University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Emory in 2020, Dr. Zhu was a medical physics faculty at Maryland Proton Treatment Center, Department of Radiation Oncology at University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Zhu has more than 10 years’ experience in proton therapy and is actively involved with all aspects of proton beam therapy. Her research interests focus on treatment planning, spatially fractionated proton therapy, and proton FLASH therapy. She published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and multiple patents.
